Doxology (unscripted praise to a God unquestionable)
Words fail me; a mere clay mortal me.
Who can question thee? The one who made me.
Your breathe in me; without which I can't be.
Who can phantom thee? The he who molded me.
I am because you are. My fate is what you make it.
Doxology.
Who can question thee? The one who made me.
Your breathe in me; without which I can't be.
Who can phantom thee? The he who molded me.
I am because you are. My fate is what you make it.
Doxology.
A million tongues won't cut it. Words can't tie it.
You're not man. You don't lie. You don't repent of your words.
Your ways are higher than ours. Your thoughts too.
Your judgment is fair. Your decisions holy.
For every fleeting moment. For all there is. Nobody's greater than thee.
Doxology.
You're not man. You don't lie. You don't repent of your words.
Your ways are higher than ours. Your thoughts too.
Your judgment is fair. Your decisions holy.
For every fleeting moment. For all there is. Nobody's greater than thee.
Doxology.
*This piece is dedicated to the loving memory of Dolapo Adedipe. May the good God be with and may his sweet Holy Spirit comfort the loved ones you left behind.
Invictus by William Ernest Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
Elegy for Madiba
The beautiful ones have come and gone.
May we never be deceived to forget your truth.
Few men have walked this clime like you.
May we never be fooled to missing the essence of your beauty.
Valiant in the face of many struggles.
May we remember your goodness.
Freedom was your purpose.
May we become more through love.
Good night son of Africa.
Uyawuzw'umoya! Feel the spirit.
My D.O.G to a GOD
Thank you! A mountain full of it.
I owe you my very life. I exist cos you will it.
Ten thousand tongues won't cut it.
A million songs won't do it.
Sometimes I am full of shitty ish. Shit loads of it.
Here's my Debt of Gratitude (D.O.G) to you cos you are worth it.
Thank you!
I Hope You Dance (Lee Ann Womack)
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'
Don't let some Hellbent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?)
Please remind me to smile.
When love is, smile.
When it is not, smile.
When there is plenty, smile.
When lack is much, smile.
When there are friends, smile.
When enemies rise, smile.
When profit pile, smile.
When all is lost, smile.
When life is good, smile.
When she shows her ugly side, smile.
When all is bad, smile.
When reasons call for it, smile.
When there is no reason to, smile.
When words fail, smile.
My Prayer
To become that which Elohim wills for me.
To attain unto maturity; dealing with men like God will.
To love like my life depends on loving cos it does.
To be a wise son of a great God; laboring to win souls.
To not lose my own soul.
To translate my intentions into reality; overcoming inertia.
To place a demand on life as I am led.
To speak as I am led.
To love, listen and lead.
To be the change that I desire to see.
To rise above self.
To give and receive; wanting nothing.
To know the truth, make beauty and do good.
To be with him; joyful when all of these is over and done with.
I miss you. I pray for you
You saw me at my lowest ebb.
You were there with me when I sucked the most.
In the ranshack, there I was when we met.
With you, I broke generational curses.
Together we made milestones. You knew me.
The dreams we shared are still unchanged.
I miss you. I really do.
I cry when no one's looking.
Out of the ranshack, into a bigger space without you.
Without you, I feel so alone.
Apart, I hurt deep inside. I do.
The dreams we shared are still unchanged.
Just when I thought I had it all together, fear had me.
Just when I thought this chapter was leading to the altar, uncertainty crept in.
The thought of losing you to another rages in me. I almost hate him but I can't.
Our moments; the moments we both shared. I cherish them still.
No one to whisper "Blacky". No one to call me "Babes". I miss you.
If there's any justice in the world, I'll be your man.
Wait a minute. Am I singing that sad song?
Do you know that I have even wished that rapture will occur?
I have wished that a thousand times.
I was saving me for you.
You are most noble of them all.
Let any call me selfish or cissy.
Let any call me careless. They probably didn't know us.
I'm sorry if I wasted your time. I bless the day I met you.
I'm sorry if I wasn't all that you needed me to be. You know you matter to me.
I' sorry if I didn't fight as much you would have expected. My strength failed me
I pray that your light burst out before men. I pray your struggles wont be lost.
I pray you find someone to love you more than I. You deserve the best.
I miss you. I love you. I pray for you.
When Love is not enough
God is not slack concerning His promises. If for any reason I don't get what I desire, it won't be cos God failed. He is not a man that he should lie nor the son of man to repent of His words. Forget about eloquence. This is exactly how I feel in my belly. You'd be right to call these rantings because that's what it is. I crave your indulgence to permit me for the umpteenth time to bore you not with semantic gymnastics but with my vulnerabilities.
- What do you do when you run out of wisdom? (the ability to know the difference).
- What do you do when you are not sure anymore?
- What do you do when you feel very faithless?
- What do you do when the "voices" of reason seem to amount to distractions?
- What do you do when answers aren't sufficient?
- What do you do when the center cannot hold anymore?
- What do you do when you wish your decisions wouldn't attract consequences?
- What do you do when you wish that your life is not yours to live?
- What do you do when you feel so alone? When you can't hear from God?
- What do you do when love is not enough?
Alone in my thoughts...Alone.
I wish life was as easy like A,B,C...
I wish the equation was 2+2 which is equal to 4.
I wish I can close my eyes and this drama cease to be.
I wish it wasn't me. I really do.
*Sighs*
"If wishes were horses, beggars will ride".
It's a hard knock life... It is.
And this too shall pass away...
For The Boy That Once Loved Me(Something someone wrote me)
I watched you patrol the floor,
Be it in anger I do not know,
I pondered on such a matter so,
And decided there was to be no hope.
Engrossed I was in my virtual world,
Encased in metal that’s foretold,
Lost I am in all the holes,
Searching for something I cannot hold.
No smile to graze my face,
No hug to present an embrace,
No tide to make the pace,
No passion to fuel the place.
I miss your face, your smile, your laugh,
I miss your warmth, your air, your kiss,
I miss your WOWs, your OMGs, your words,
I’ve said it all, except I miss you soooooooo.
And she clocks 50 (Musings for Niger-Area)

Mary Slessor Christened, Lord Luggard Amalgamated…
She’s a beauty. A beauty in the Sahara…..
Alluring vegetation, Undulating plateaus, the delta, confluence, Olumo and more……..
Even though she get wahala,
Plentious katakata in summer and after,
Woe to the magas and saboteurs.......
Shame on those that brew wahala and make her children suffer
As I reminisce and ponder over her... Politics, economy and more
Nigeria; She stands tall and above all
With hope and advantage……
With grandeur and stamina……..
Pray; Good people- Tell her to wake.....
Thou sleeping giant….
Nigeria!
