Aluta Continua!! Victoria Asserta!!

Events in the last few days are interesting to say the least. Who says Nigerians cannot stand their ground? If there was any doubting Thomas, i encourage you to take a trip to the Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Park at Ojota in Lagos. There you will see a community of valiant protesters who have decided to clamp down on the inhumane government policy. These are really interesting times. The Nigerian masses have shown great solidarity by making their voices count. The strike action against the removal of subsidy by the federal government which started on Monday continues indefinitely.
The 4 DAY stand down (Monday till now) is so far the longest national strike action in the history of this country and i'm glad to be alive in these times. Nigerians have defiled the inconveniences to communicate their dissatisfaction to the government of the day which apparently has defiled the words of reason. This is shameful and belligerent. When a man surrounds himself with a brood of psychopaths who lack emotional capacity to empathize with the people.
Well, the purpose of this write up is not to even debate the appropriateness of the government policy because it is a no-brainer that the government has lost it. Apart from the fact that the government lacks credibility, the timing of the policy is unequivocally inordinate. For the records, deregulation (removal of subsidy) is essentially the way to go so as to achieve efficiency and greater sustainable good but within the context of the Nigerian polity, the government must begin to show credibility. The government at all levels must embrace fiscal accountability and discipline while making necessary adjustments today.
The privilege of hindsight also makes it very important for the conveners of various protests to critically define the impact of the current strategy which has featured largely conventional demonstrations (Ojota Save Nigeria Group-SNG and the occupy Nigeria subliminal protests). No doubt these pockets of protests have been successful to the extent of representation but, how far can we really cause the government to bow to the demands?
I stand to be corrected but i believe that the government is "goatly" unperturbed by the plight of Nigerians. The Government of Nigeria has a reputation and a very strong antecedent for being very stubborn. The harsh truth is that we need more affirmative action. Some clandestine action to clamp down this tyranny. I have a singular suggestion to make. I call this the strategy to bring government of Nigeria to submission.
The Strategy to bring Nigerian Government to submission:
Can you imagine a joint press briefing involving the top Christian and Muslim clerics in a united front making unanimous demands on behalf of the citizens of this country? Think about the effect that will bring. I am talking about the coming together of prominent people like Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, other men of God under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the top muslim clerics under the auspices of the coalition of NASFAT/ANSARUDEEN. Such a briefing should present a list of clearly articulated demands cum suggestions to the government with deadlines. I can bet my meager salary on the outcome of such an affirmative action. The government will bow to its knees. This is my strategy. Its simple and highly predictable just like any practical strategy. Ask Richard Rumelt (Author of Good Bad Strategy). The way forward is very unambiguous. Its unequivocally clear.
God bless the travails of the Nigerian people.
