On my journey to becoming an Orange mind

Write your own story. Be epic!

I am not one given to tradition for the sake of tradition. I have a very strong belief that rules are meant to be broken. Laws? no man should break. This post is about embracing change. I chronicle some profound principles that I am learning to practice as I pursue my triumph over status-quo. I am on a journey of self discovery and I'm loving everything so far. An orange mind is one who is exceptional in all material respects. Think of an orange mind as a purple cow; a linchpin.

Thou shall not conform but TRANSFORM
The easiest thing to do is conform to an order. I am not talking about compliance here because if it were so easy to comply, we wouldn't need prisons. A lot in life although depends on our choice. Life is not a chance and it is true that You Only Live Once (Y.O.L.O). Conformity is when you are expected to sacrifice your true passion for a job that puts food on the table. Conformity is what makes people do the job they hate with those they don't like to see. To conform is to silence one's dream and spirit because of what people expect of us. I believe that the human experience is limited in some sense. This is a natural order dictated by the spiritual. Sake for the laws made by God; the author and sustainer of life, ALL other rules must be broken. This is not a license for absurdity.

What do you believe? What do you see?
I read it somewhere that you should do one thing that scare you daily. I reckon that the human spirit is capable of many-A-things and overcoming our fears is a requirement for victorious living. The Good Life is a life of love and happiness. For the most part, we are limited by our own bias, prejudice and parochial view. There was a time in this part of the world, it was a taboo and serious abomination to give birth to twins. There was a time when men dared not venture beyond a point for the fear of falling down the clif. This was when the world was believed to be flat. Men were hung for proclaiming their belief that the world was hitherto spherical. Until now, sex belonged to the holy institution of marriage but today, men and women in the name of political correctness and inclusion are breaking God's law. Let humanity be reminded that the laws of God cannot be broken without the attached consequence. In an attempt to reach out for freedom, we must not divorce wisdom (the ability to know the difference).

The holy grail by Kenny Brandmuse
1. Perspective.
2. Failure.
3. Intentional Destruction
4. Customer obsession.

Each and every of the above elements carry a definite message meant to shatter every un-holy alliance with everything good that deter humanity from reaching for great. Mediocrity is masked in tradition.

Perspective. Take another look at it. Ask the unthinkable. Genius is seeing what others can't. So long we refuse to challenge our own most cardinal beliefs, we deny ourselves the joy of the new. The language of innovation goes thus: Why not? Wouldn't it be great if? What will happen if? The 21st century is awash with innovation resulting from unrepentant mashing. Burst the myths. Face your fears. Break the rules not the laws.

Failure. The journey is the reward. The style is as important as the outcome. Celebrate the style. Keep trying. Don't quit. Perspire. Don't beat yourself up over a set-back because innovation occurs more often than not at the edge of chaos. We live in a world adept at the microwave mentality but we know that great work don't just appear. Great work is made. Time is often an illusion but knowing that life is not about duration but donation helps to overcome the pressures of the environment.  You cannot be everything to everyone. Don't go hunting for likeness instead ask: How can I make this great? What is wrong with this work?

Intentional destruction. If you don't cannibalize yourself, someone else will (Steve Jobs). The secret of Google and other enigmatic enterprises is that they do not rest on the oars. Real artists ship but great ones are not afraid to "kill". Being able to divorce emotion from our work; letting go of the good for the great is the number one thing that separates the insanely great from average. Innovation is as much saying no to a thousand good ideas as it is saying yes to a great one.

Customer Obsession. When the chips are down, life is essentially about people. Life is ultimately about people. In winning friends, we must show ourselves to be friendly. We must not lose sight of the real motivation for our work. Reducing people to mere objects is tantamount to self-destruction. Crown your customer like Ritz Carlton.

Write your own story.
What else do you do with these things than to ask God to give us the grace to number our days so as to apply our hearts unto wisdom. The life of man is but a vapor. Write your own story.
