The evil of a two-party state: Implications for Niger-Area.
This is my gospel of skepticism.
In my very short time here, I have continued to marvel at the intricate nature of man. We are amazing beings to say the least. Still on the matter, my political education has brought me to a very shocking discovery; nothing is ever the way it seems. For instance, most people are quick to create a seemingly rational dichotomy between Democracy and Fascism. Most of us tend to believe they are diametrically opposed to each other. Same applies to those who find themselves in the opposite sides be it Democratic party or Republican party. Few subscribe to the mid-ground or shall I say alternative Tea party. What is the difference?
In truth, Democracy and Fascism are deeply planted in collectivism and collectivism is deeply antithetical to the preservation of human rights. It’s a question of choosing between two lesser evils. The end product of both is a police state. The most advanced democracies in the world have proven this with the pockets of draconian laws that eventually eliminates the highly esteemed values of democratic ideology. This is not an attack on democracy as much as it is an attempt to show that nothing human is infallible. I fear for the future of the macroeconomic environment called Nigeria as we transit to a two-party state where fundamentals are relegated to the background and the real issues fade. The common man will bear the brunt of the ruling class. For clarity, look at America. ALL NA SAME.
So therefore, let the goons of so-called progressives (APC) and the incumbent (PDP) know that Nigeria and Nigerians cannot afford the luxury of their smokescreen.
What are the fundamental issues for the future of Nigeria?
