Trouble at the re-naming ceremony!

What do you say of a man who is suffering from Leprosy and Ringwom, meets a physician who has the ability to rid him of one of the diseases and foolishly chooses to be healed of ringworm instead of his leprosy. Now that is foolishness of the highest degree.

The blessed Aare Onakakanfo Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO) was a man of unrivalled achievements and progressive philosophy. Go to youtube and watch the debate bewteen himself and Tofa in 1993. GEJ should be humbled by this, considering his lousy afront and refusal to participate in a similar civil exercise. Shame many of today's politicians (Poorly-Literates). Real men are truly scarce.

Well, damn right! this nation hasn't done well to immortalise this man. Abiola certainly deserves more.

Going on to re-name Unilag is a pure stoic idea. The federal government of this country can surely do better. How about they focus on creating the good life for the common man. Abiola's heartbeat was that which sought to make life better for the common man.

If re-naming is the plot, I will suggest that they re-name the Aso Rock. That would be a good way to start. If they are through with that, they can go ahead to re-name all federal government buildings. Lousy government with no shame at all.

I appeal to the Unilag elements to understand very assuredly that their chosen course of action is void of a prudent course. What is wrong in re-naming Unilag as MKO University? I don't think anything is wrong about this gesture. Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria is a Federal University like Unilag. Bayero University Kano (BUK) is also a federal university. The North has done well to immortalise their heroes. We in the west surely can take a cue from them. I think we should. Yoruba ronu (Yoruba should think).
I'd rather expect these young fellas to organise themselves and ask our sleeping government what their plan is for them. I am worried that the unemployment rate is at an all-time high which means that these students (most of them) will graduate to join a saturated job market. Bedeviling indeed!

Considering the paradoxical state of the nation, the parody of lies in the corridors of power and the lack of gumption on the part of our political leaders, we need a cleansing of some sort. We cannot continue like this in this nation.

I am tempted like Uncle Oluwole Soyinka to ask: Is the future of this country not bleak? (Big Sigh)
