This Divorce thing sef! (I dont want you anymore)

This is the part that I really love:

Officiating Priest: Will you the groom take this damsel as your wedded bride; your wife; To love and to cherish till death do you part?

Groom: Yes I Do!(So help me God).( Professes ecstatically)

Officiating Priest: Will you Bride take this dude as your wedded husband; To love and to cherish till death do you part?

Bride: Yes I Do (So help me God).(Declares amidst blushes & kisses)

Few months down the line:

Husband: I hate you and regret marrying you! Was I drunk and blind? God, Why?

Wife: I don’t know whatever came on me. How did I ever say yes to a beast like you.

The rest is history. They both go their separate ways- Divorced!

The acrimony that surrounds the separation of couples makes one, especially the never married folks very scared. Imagine the above scenario? You'll have to think twice before signing the dotted lines. The rate of divorce in the US which was estimated over 50% seems very alarming but coming back home you realize that the story is not different at all (Its infact worrisome). The only difference is that we manage our divorces in a rather unceremonious manner; dissolving unions in a seamless fashion.

Just before you regret your decision to walk down the isle, pls realize the implication(s):

For better for worse; You are promising the fellow that come what may, the validity of this union will remain. That in the manifestation of any gory event that the person can count on you for support. I am sure there are several consequences of this solemn declaration or is just a ceremonial declaration?

I have chosen not to swim further in this very strong tidal waters for apparent reasons (I don’t wanna incur the wrath of very angry actors; Divorcees & soon to be divorced). People have predestined opinions on this issue and that makes it very difficult to apply reasoning. For instance why should you not divorce an unfaithful spouse who you caught in the act? What sermon do you preach to someone who is being abused in a marital relationship? Its pretty complicated.

You'd ask me perhaps. What is your position? My opinion? Don’t go too far o! Just to let you know I am not married. This alone makes me very unqualified to even discuss this topic. What possibly do I know about the issue of hearts? ( I agree I am very clueless and lack the cognate experience to provide counsel). Before you curse the day light out of me in utmost irritation; just before you jump the gun, all that I am saying, I mean asking is Why Divorce?

Why should two people who became one decide to go their separate ways?
