A letter to God

Image
Dear Father,     I want to start this letter by thanking you for the gift of life. This is not a function of protocol although, the rules of engaging you is pretty much defined ( Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise ). I am truly full of gratitude for giving me the opportunity  to be here at this other side of eternity. There are things in my life that I'm glad you forgot and I'm truly grateful. You are ever faithful. You are a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Thank you for the wonderful gift of salvation wrought by your dear son and my own saviour; Jesus. I reference your holy spirit for his nudges. Adoration be unto you, the maker of heaven and the earth. My soul magnifies you. What is man that you are mindful of us? What is it about the son of men that you made us (some theologians say a bit lower than Elohim)? You even crowned us with your glory. What manner of love? It is such a priv...

The Man Died: Tribute to Chinua Achebe

Image
History never forgets those who die empty. To die empty is to have given one's best while alive. Martyrs, sages, heroes and heroine all share a common attribute. They die empty. A wise-man once said to me son " Do you know that the richest place on earth is the graveyard? It is because it is filled with people who never got to live their true calling for many reasons ". In this piece, I salute the late Chinua Achebe. In my limited knowledge of him, I think this man did empty himself. I know this not because he wrote best sellers (writing is a veritable art form and a good way to empty oneself) but because he had a cause. He stood for something and was courageous enough to pursue it to the very end. While this commentary may be post-mortem, I have chosen to seize the very moment of his burial to express my thoughts on a great man.       At the time of writing this post, there are pockets of co...

The Ultimate Incubator

Image
Life was much easy when incubation had to do mostly with the science of hatching eggs and nurturing a pre-term baby (premature baby). Today, the word incubation like many other words convey a totally different meaning. For those who are familiar with the start up community, you are probably aware of entities like kickstarter in the US,  CoCreationHub in Nigeria and others who pursue the lofty enterprise of creating platforms for new businesses, products and ideas to launch. Incubators can be described as launchpads for new ideas (products, businesses e.t.c). However, I am sorry to disappoint you if you expected this post to be about incubation in the context of start ups. In this post, I will be talking about the most important idea ever conceived and executed by God himself. You will have to forgive my glaring chauvinistic tendencies for which I am unrepentantly unapologetic about. By the time you finish reading this post, I trust that you will e...
